Blazers 101

22nd Mar 2022

The humble blazer, able to dress up or dress down any wardrobe, is a versatile staple in any man’s styling repertoire. When looking for big and tall jackets, a blazer creates a flattering shape with its sharp tailoring and subtle V neckline. They also offer you plenty of choice when it comes to color and print, so you feel confident in any outfit.

Our Comfort Blazers are machine washable and lightweight, making them a great option for everyday wear, travelling, and those mid-season days where the weather hasn’t made up its mind between warm and cool.

Find your fit

It’s important to find the right blazer fit when shopping! Our styles come in a range from L to 7XL in regular length, and LT to 4XLT in our tall sizes, but you can also use our size guide to compare to standard US sizing if you already have a blazer that fits well. A good way to check if you’ve found the right size is across the shoulders; it should feel comfortable enough to move your arms around, but the shoulder of the blazer shouldn’t be draping over your bicep. Whilst it might be tempting to keep things loose, a baggy blazer won’t have the same professional effect as a well fitting one, which is only doing you a disservice!

Styling

Parker Comfort Blazer in Navy

Navy is a color for all occasions, and so is the Parker Comfort Blazer. This piece is half lined, which makes it breathable and easy to pack away, as well as being water resistant and sporting internal pockets with zippers, to ensure you’re ready for whatever the day throws at you – figuratively or literally! We love the Parker with a plain white tee or a polo and the Willis Check Elastic Waist Pant for smart casual settings. The Harper Tipped Pique Polo in navy keeps the colors neutral, paired with our Fender Suede Sneaker for days spent on your feet.

Jude Check Textured Blazer in Brown

Stay on trend with a check! The Jude Check Textured Blazer is fully lined with a matching pocket puff, helping to give you a more formal look and feel. Not sure what blazer to wear with jeans, or navy chinos? Look no further. The navy accent in the check makes it easy to pair with denim, and the Anders Linen Shirt in navy or chambray. Keep the blue theme going with the Fender Suede Sneaker, or call out the blazer’s brown with the Anchor Leather Boat Shoe .

If you need to look more formal in a pinch, tuck your shirt in, with a brown leather belt to tie the outfit together.

Bates Linen Blend Blazer in Stone

As the weather gets warmer heading towards Summer, a linen blazer makes for a comfortable and stylish choice. The lighter color of the Bates Linen Blend Blazer is perfect for outdoor events and parties. How do you wear a linen blazer? Make an impression with the Reed Floral Print Shirt and Raymond Slim Elastic Pant , or go more casual with the Martin Floral Stretch Shirt and jeans. This season features a desert-themed color palette, with plenty of warm and bright colors, so keep this in mind when putting together your look. If you’d look at home amongst the sand dunes amongst the cacti and underneath a clear blue sky, you’re heading in the right direction!
